A Zurich figure of a huntress, circa 1770, from a set of the Seasons, wearing green costume, resting on her rifle, her dog sniffing a dead duck in her hand, blue Z mark, 21.5cm high/Provenance: Spetchley Park/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: 443:Neck not restored. Small section of hat broken off and glued. Birds head restored including possibly her thumb and fore finger. Sections of shoulder strap lacking and a piece from the rifle mechanism.
A BROWNING .22'' SHORT SEMI-AUTO 'TAKE DOWN' RIFLE, produced at the Fabrique Nationale factory in Herstal Belgium, production of these rifles commenced at this factory in 1914 and continued there until 1973 when production transferred to Japan, it is regarded as the first successful semi-automatic .22'' rim-fire rifle and is now regarded as a classic, it uses a tubular magazine and is loaded via a port in the wrist of the stock, spend cases were ejected downwards, it is believed to be in working order, a small section of the toe of the butt has been lost, it bears the serial number 56906 (The purchaser must be the holder of a current R.F.D, or a Firearms Certificate bearing an appropriate authority) (please ask a member of staff to view)
