A most unusual American 3 barrelled percussion gun/rifle, 49” overall, barrels 33”, being double barrelled 14 bore smooth over .40” rifled, the broad top rib with single fixed rearsight, the upper barrels fired by means of conventional back locks retaining traces of scroll engraving and game birds, the lower barrel fired by means of underhammer, the trigger guard acting as the spring, the walnut butt with pale brass patch box and deeply concave butt plate, with ramrod on each side of the lower barrel (one lacking brass tip). Basically Good Condition (some wear overall), the upper right hand action working, left hand and lower actions require attention). Plate 33

Hollis & Sons, 44½Â” overall, octagonal twist barrel 28”, broad matted top rib with 7 folding sights from 200 to 800 yards and graduated from 1-12 inches, engraved “I Hollis & Sons, London” and numbered 183, signed lock scroll engraved overall, the nicely figured dark walnut fullstock with horn fore end cap, deeply chequered fore end and pistol grip, steel mounts including large butt trap, lid engraved with scene of stag and mountains, also with vacant escutcheon, loops for sling swivels, and replacement ramrod. Good Working Order and Condition (the lock and mounts have been lightly pitted, the stock very well refinished with a few small patched repairs). Plate 35

A very scarce Prussian 15.4mm Spandau Arsenal Mod 54 Dreyse needlefire Jager rifle, 48¾Â” overall, barrel 30½Â” with four folding leaf rearsights, numerous inspectorÂ’s marks, and numbered 7983, the action with Spandau eagle mark , “Mod 54”, and date 1863, the walnut fullstock with cheekpiece, ordnance marks on butt, brass mounts, steel butt plate with regimental marks “T A 206”, sling swivels, and incorrect steel cleaning rod. A cased double barrelled 14 bore percussion sporting gun, 46¾Â” overall, Birmingham proved twist barrels 30” engraved “London” on top rib; locks engraved with scrolls and “Manton”, walnut stock with chequered fore-end and wrist and with scroll engraved steel mounts including elaborate pineapple trigger guard finial. Good Working Order and Condition (front ramrod pipe missing, barrels lightly pitted overall); also a good 36 bore percussion underhammer walking stick gun, browned twist barrel 32¼Â” with London proofs, action engraved “Edwd. London Gun & Rifle Maker, 51 London Wall, London”, walnut handle with thread for attachment of shoulder stock, the hole filled by an engraved screw when not in use, together with its nicely figured and polished stock with engraved steel mounts and an interchangeable 7” browned twist barrel; all contained in a green baize lined fitted mahogany case, the lid with a large brass escutcheon engraved with a crest, containing a 30 bore pincer mould, plain bag shaped copper flask, nipple key with pricker, turnscrew, good quality shot flask with German silver charger, mainspring clamp, barrel key/ nipple key for the walking stick gun, Kynoch cap tin, cloth wad bag, etc. The whole in Good Clean Condition Plate 41

By Elastolin etc, 5 flag bearers, each with a different flag- large black and white Iron Cross, black and red, black, red and white, swastika within white circle with red background and a swastika within white circle background to the centre of a black and white cross on within a red background. Plus a German soldier on horseback, man running with rifle at the ready, bayonet fixed and two red cross figures. QGC-GC some wear/cracking. One flag bearer and man on horse well worn. GILES CARL: (1916-1995) British Cartoonist. Signed and inscribed Christmas greetings card by Giles, the oblong 4to folding card featuring a colour illustration to the cover, being a reproduction of an amusing cartoon by Giles depicting a policeman inspecting Santa Claus's sleigh, pulled by two reindeers, and discovering several pheasants hidden within a red sack. Santa Claus can be seen hiding behind a tree within the forest, angrily observing the policeman and holding a shooting rifle in his hands. Signed by Giles in bold black ink to the inside, 'To H.R.H. Prince Charles….from Giles', alongside a printed greeting. A good association. VG Prince Charles (1948- ) Prince of Wales, eldest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
