A .177” BSA Light or Ladies model underlever air rifle, number L39592 (1934), with single hole trigger block, trigger adjuster screw in the trigger guard, walnut butt with impressed chequered panels with BSA initials, and retailer’s stamp of Venables & Son. GWO& C (lightly refinished). Plate 12

Patent./Manufactured By the BSA Co Ld Birmingham”, the walnut butt stamped with Lincoln Jeffries trademark, “Registered Lincoln Jeffries” and with retailer’s stamp (Smallwood ?). GWO & C (small locking screw missing, metalwork lightly worn with dark patina, some wear to butt). Plate 13

WO & basically GC (worn overall, the underlever locking catch replaced).
A .177” BSA Lincoln Jeffries underlever air rifle, number 12359 (1907-08), 43¾” overall, the air chamber stamped “BSA.Air Rifle/ Made by The Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited”, the cocking lever stamped “Lincoln Jeffries’ Patent”, the walnut butt having hand chequered pistol grip, stamped with BSA trade mark, and with later folding aperture sight. An 1855 Sappers and Miners bayonet for the Lancaster carbine, the leather grips replaced with plain wood (probably executed in India). Basically GC (the blade slightly worn and lightly rusted overall); also an Enfield P1856/58 bayonet modified to fit Martini Henry rifle. QGC (rusted overall). (2)
An Enfield percussion rifle converted to 22 bore sporting gun, 48½” overall, barrel 33” with traces of military proofs and government sale mark, the lock with traces of crown over “VR” and “1860 Tower”, the walnut halfstock having single barrel band and regulation steel mounts, the butt bearing clear B’ham storekeeper’s mark dated 1860, overstamped with government sale mark, and “Lt. R.F “ over “230”, with original steel ramrod. GWO & basically GC (the metalwork pitted overall with dull grey finish)

Named box of issue and named Casualty Medal Slip.

With copy service papers, born Welford, Northamptonshire. Papers only confirm the Burma 1887-89 clasp, it appears he is not entitled to the Burma 1889-92 clasp. GVF (2)
