39th Lancashire Rifle Volunteers The Liverpool Welsh Officers pouch belt plate 1860-1861.Very fine rare short-lived die-stamped silver plate Prince of Waless crest and motto above a large oval strap, LANCASHIRE RIFLE VOLUNTEERS, 39 to the tip. Centrally St. David with crozier holding a harp and a leek, in front of him a long-horned ram. Two screw posts, washers & hooped nuts VGCWith commissions dated 9 February 1860 the corps was under the command of Capt. William James Griffiths, their existence was short lived disappearing from the Army Lists by early 1862.

Three screw posts VGC33rd LRVC formed 28th January 1860 at Ardwick; absorbed 78th in 1862. 33rd became 20th in 1880 and redesignated 5th (Ardwick) VB Manchester Regt. in September 1888.

Boer War Officer in the Glen Gray Native Levy together with WWI family grouping to a Cape Colonial service family. Queens South African Medal, two bars: Cape Colony and Wittenbergen. Correctly named to '555 Pte H C B Parker Queenstown Rifle Volunteers' and his single bilingual issue Victory medal impressed to 'Cpl H C B Parker SANLC'. Cpl Parker?s Queens medal was issued off the Queenstown Rifle Vol. roll, however, he later served as Lieutenant in the Glen Gray Native Levy, under the name Bland Parker. Lieut. Bland Parker is recorded as serving with B Squadron, Glen Gray Native Levy on the medal roll, together with a comment to state his medal was issued from the Queenstown RV roll. Glen Gray is a scare unit with only a few officers and non-commissioned officers. WWI pair of British War Medal and Victory Medal awarded to Cpl. W J T Parker SANCL. W J T Parker served in the Boer War with the Cape Colony Defence Department as a Clerk under the Secretary for Defence. No medals were issued for his Boer War although its service as it is stated that he is entitled to the Bronze Queens medal. (rare comment for issue of Bronze QSA medal) . This is an interesting family grouping of an old Cape family in colonial service.

An original WWI First World War Imperial German army SG 98/05 ' Butcher ' rifle bayonet. The blade marked for Carl Eickhorn of Solingen and dated 1918 (date slightly illegible). Hooked steel pommel with press release button, ribbed wooden grips and a forward back facing quillon. Within a period leather and steel scabbard, with original leather frog. Measures approx; 52cm long in total.

The bayonet with wooden shaped grips, eagle formed pommel with push-stud release, short quillon, leading to a single edged fullered blade. The ricasso stamped ' dot ' with numbers to other side. Made in the Brund factory. Within its original steel scabbard. Total length approx; 50cm.
