US M5 Knife Bayonet M1 Grand Rifle, marked USM8A1 / MILPAR COL on the underneath of the cross guard and USM8AI / PWH on the top scabbard mount. Partial double edged blade measuring 17cm in length. Scabbard retains the webbing belt loop. Accompanied by a West German export M7 Bayonet for the US M16. Complete with the original scabbard. Blade measures 16 ½ cm in length. Aleksandr Bagratovich Mchedlishvili in 1945 and 1943 respectively; together with another Medal for Bravery (this numbered 1409789 and included to represent the recipient’s second award of the medal in 1944) and bronze medals for the Defence of the Caucasus and Victory over Japan, very fine and better (5) Private Aleksandr Bagratovich Mchedlishvili was attached to the Rifle Division and his award of the Order of Glory was upgraded from the original recommendation for a Red Star. Offered with full citation and research in both Russian and English.
