Watson 1/2 Plate Camera with Kershaw Soft Focus Lens. Watson & Sons 1/2 plate wood & brass camera, circa 1910. Roller blind shutter inoperative & shutter mounting panel split (easy repair). Missing one side strut and bellows VERY dry & stiff. Will need some work to allow camera to fully close, so condition 7G. Fitted with RARE 11" Kershaw f5.6 Soft Focus lens # 231. (condition 5F). Rear element has a few minor marks etc commensurate with its' age. Please note that this lens does require a front element.

UPDATED DESCRIPTION: An Early Wet Plate Tailboard Camera & Lens. A bellows type wet plate tailboard camera fitted with a French lens (condition 5F). The camera seems to be un-named but is either of French design and retailed by J Pyne, or possibly made by Pyne as it is fitted with a Lerbours et Secretan lens #4699 engraved J Pyne, 63 Piccadilly. The focal length of the lens is unmarked but the serial number places it in the late 1850s. The use of Waterhouse Stops is probably a later conversion. (Lens hood dented, otherwise condition 5F). J Pyne was an early manufacturer active in Piccadilly, Manchester around the 1860s & 70s and examples of their cameras are rare. This example comes with ground-glass focusing screen (cracked), wet plate-holder and a (homemade?) conversion insert, possibly for dry plate use, plus a set of 3 Waterhouse stops.

Canon manual focus FD 300mm f2.8 L series manual focus lens with professional mount conversion to fit NIKON film & digital SLRs. (condition 5E). There are no electrical or mechanical connections to the camera so manual diaphragm operation and metering only, but focus confirmation is available in viewfinders of compatible Nikon cameras. Cream body parts re-painted green (for camouflage?) and tape covers built-in lens hood (very slight ding). Some internal dirt & dust specks, but performance seems unaffected. Boat image shown taken with Nikon DSLR, with lens wide open at f2.8. Includes rear cap & front cover. Also a matched x1.4 converter for use with this lens.
