Collection of WW1 trench art & buttons of Imperial Airways, Air transport auxiliary and a silver pin badge showing 25 years service with the ‘British Overseas Airways Corporation’ with a small tankard to the 15th Royal Welsh Fusiliers Association 1914 - 1935. One of the Trench art in the form of a letter opener is etched with ‘LENS 1917’ referring to the Battle of Hill 70between Canadian Corps and the German 6th Army on the outskirts of Lens in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region between 15th & 25thof August 1917.

A Field Officer’s Telescope. A mid-19th Century Field Officer’s two-drawer brass telescope by Troughton & Simms, London, brass mounted throughout and extending to 420mm, with integrated rear lens cover and leather bound front panel with two strap loops for attachment to uniform, the later partially detached, the first drawer engraved ‘Captn. William Master, 5th Fusileers’, in good working condition £200-£300 --- William Chester Master was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the 5th (Northumberland Fusiliers) Regiment of Foot, by purchase, on 23 April 1839, and was promoted Lieutenant (by purchase) on 26 October 1841, and Captain (by purchase) on 29 December 1846. Proceeding with the Regiment to India he received his Majority on 4 September 1857 and commanded the 5th Fusiliers at the Relief of Lucknow in November 1857, served with it in Outram’s force at the Alumbagh and in all the operations of the succeeding months, and commanded the Regiment at the capture of Lucknow. Promoted Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel on 24 March 1858, Master saw further service throughout the Oude campaign of 1858-59, including the action of Dounderkeira and Buxarghat, and the capture of the fort of Oomrea. Several times Mentioned in Despatches, for his services during the Mutiny he was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in March 1863.
British WWII Admiralty Pattern 378A signaling Heather type made by Renfrew Electric and Refrigeration Co Ltd. They clamped to a top fixture of either a telescope or binoculars (aboard ship) andand were used only at night to send traffic from ship to ship. I assume the different lens shades were selected based on light conditions at the time it was being used. In excellent condition with original paper instruction, but missing its battery.
British Churchill Mark V, Cromwell and Centaur Tank Artillery Gun Sight WWII, first year of production, British No48 x 3 L MKI.S. tank Howitzer sighting scope. It was manufactured by A.K.& S. in 1944 and was designed to be used on the British 95mm howitzer and with the BESA 7.92mm machine gun. The 95mm tank howitzer was first introduced in 1944 and was fitted to the Churchill Mark V and VIII, the Cromwell VI & VIII and the Centaur IV tanks. This example is production O.S. 1019 G.A.No. 213. Below this is the military broad arrow acceptance stamp. The lens in in good condition with fractures and still retaining its rubber eye cover and handle.
Ensign Optiscope No.6 Lantern Slide Projector, fits 3 1/4x3 1/4 Inch slides. Aldis Uno Projector Lens F:10 inch; bellows lens extension and three wooden slide carriers (Stamped R.R.D.) The Lamp house has an ES Bulb holder, the power controlled with an on/off switch on the base and the plug has been changed to fit a modern outlet and the projector works. The Ensign Optiscope No.6 was made in England by Houghton's Ltd, Circa 1905 and is in exceptionally good condition.

The lenses are in excellent condition with no fractures. Comes in leather carry case with wooden slide carrier.

A late Edwardian amethyst set 9ct gold ring, the central oval mixed cut amethyst (measuring 6.5mm x 4.5mm), bezel set 9ct gold to a plain polished shank, marks for Birmingham 1910, O 1/2, weight 1.6gms Condition Report; Please note: This stone has not been tested for natural or synthetic origin. It has been inspected under a 10x lens, and contains inclusions consistent with those found in natural examples.The central stone shows some large scratches to the central table and outer facets, and some abrasion and light nibbles to the facet edges. No major fractures or losses visible.The bezel setting is in good order, no signs of splitting or thinning. There is possible signs of repair where the bezel meets the shoulders (see additional images for details). The shank does show possible signs of repair or re-sizing (see additional pictures for details). There is some thinning to the base of the shank, but no splits or misshaping. General scratching, wear and tear consistent with age and wear. Hallmarks to shank and to the bezel setting are clear.
