MPH Models, Tim Dyke - A boxed MPH Models #1266 1:43 scale resin and alloy Ferrari TRi 330LM Le Mans Winner 1962 O.Gendebien / P.Hill 2765.58 miles at 115.24 mph. The model was created by the renowned modeler Tim Dyke in April 2000, and is a Limited Edition model numbered 21 of only 25 produced, and comes with hand signed certificate / card. hTe model in the traditional Ferrari 'rosso corso' appears in Mint condition with some dust / mildew around tyres, and features the RN6. With 251 detailed special features including "Headlamps - kit units discarded, body countersunk to accept lenses, MV lenses fitted"; "External mirror - moulded on unit removed, reshaped dowelled, lens recess carved in"; "MPH Etching for gear gate" plus many more fantastic details - some only visible under close scrutiny. The base of the model features details of the model with the MPH branding, and is housed in a plain white, Mint cardboard box with MPH Branding. The box contains ephemera relating to the modifications bestowed on the marvellous model plus details of the actual vehicles racing heritage, as well as a photo etched plaque contained in clear plastic snap bag. MPH Models, Tim Dyke - A boxed MPH Models #1292 Talbot - Lago Le Mans 1952 Pierre Levegh Retired 23rd Hour - Engine. This attractive resin model was produced in December 2000 by Tim Dyke and is number 22 of a Limited Edition run of 25 models produced by the modelling maestro. Finished in the legendary Talbot blue colour, this exquisite model appears to be in Mint condition (some dust to front wheels) and comes with a host of Tim Dyke modifications / special features which include "Lago Grand Sport' p/etched to MPH Artwork in 4 thou. nickel plated brass"; "Mirror lens p/etched"; "Bonnet - incorrect panel lines filled in" etc. All of these features are contained within a document which also includes the history behind the vehicle. The model is mounted on a paved effect resin plinth, which also has two unattached photo etched plaques, both contained in clear plastic snap bag, and is housed in Mint plain white cardboard box with MPH branding. The model also comes with hand signed certificate / card. The level of detail is overwhelming, for instance, the box contains a label which states "Rear Race Number Askew (As Researched)". A Ricard Freres Le Taxiphote No.14304 and with Richard Freres Paris lens, within a stained mahogany case, the base with a cupboard door enclosing two shelves and eight pull out pressed celluloid slide cases and with numerous glass topographical slides depicting ancient Greece, Turkey, Gibraltar etc., height 50cm.
A 20th century Astral of Coventry ships bulkhead timepiece reputedly from the SS Arnhem. The heavy brass bezel will thick bevelled lens, and the dial with an advance and retard lever. Mounted on a turned conical backboard, the rear movement cover is scratched with the legend"Arnhem 1st Class Lounge". Also bearing a typed note regarding the history of the SS Arnhem from Liverpool maritime museum. 35.5 cm overall diameter x 12 cm overall depth. 20 cm dial diameter.Footnote: The ship was built by John Brown on Clydebank and launched on 7 November 1946. She was the first in a series of ships to replace war losses and was the first oil-fired ship ordered by the company. She had capacity for 600 passengers and 50,000 cubic feet (1,400 m3) of grain.[2]In March 1953 she rescued 29 men from the Swedish ship Rigel (3,823 tons) which sank after a collision with an Italian vessel Senegal (1,650 tons) some 60 miles from Ostend.[3]Initially she was a single class vessel but was converted for first and second classes in 1954.She was taken over by the British Railways in 1948.She was scrapped in 1968 by Thos W Ward at Inverkeithing.Condition report: The timepiece Freeley winds and was running but is no longer running after a couple of winds of the key it remains unresponsive.The thick bevel lens has a small shallow shell chip to the underside of the lens, see image
