Schmidt states that he has received his correspondent's request and continues to inform him 'If the lens is otherwise good, a little haze does not bother much. However, if the definition of the lens is not good, it would be advisable to polish the lens. I would do this work for no less than 350 Mark. Never polish the lens yourself with jeweller's rouge and cleaning rags. This might leave the surfaces nice and blank, but it will completely destroy the definition. Something like this could be done with a photographic lens, since with it those errors do not matter'. Hand addressed by Schmidt to the verso. Two file holes to the upper and lower edges, one slightly affecting the signature, otherwise VG
