A cased pair of Ernst Leitz (Wetzlar) 7 x 50 Kriegsmarine binoculars with the nameplate of 'Lieutenant N.R. Benson RN' (Cmdr. Nicholas Robin Benson 1922-1990)* Condition report: Binoculars have been well used and have a good patina. Wear to black paint and small dings and nicks to the aluminium components throughout. Dent to one lens surround (see photo). Three small cracks to the textured covering around the central spar mounting. One lens has a couple of small fungus spots and there are some faint swirls scratches to the other lens. One eyepiece has a small, deep scratch to the lens. The binoculars still function well and display a clear image, with the focus on the eye pieces working correctly.
A scarce pair of post WW2 Japanese navy bridge binoculars, so called ‘Big Eye’ binoculars.Marked Nikon 1509 to the body, plus 15 x 80 and markings for 4 degrees.The bridge is marked E44 to one side, B7 to the other.Complete with rubber eye cups and metal push on lens covers.The whole piece is finished in battleship grey, with most areas having a fine textured surface.Approximately 49.5cm length x 21.7cm width.Condition: generally very good.Some light service wear and very minor paint loss to some of the extremities.The optics would appear to be clear. Please note: this item is very heavy, and collection from our Etwall saleroom is advised.
A Carl Zeiss surveyor's level, Serial No. 11924, in fitted oak box, supplied by Clarkson's Optical Stores 338 High Holborn London, box size 23 cm x 17.5 cm x 12.5 cm, a Brunsviga hand calculator (poss 1925/26), 24 cm wide, bears typed label inscribed "This Brunsviga hand calculator was purchased by Mr W T Halcrow to enable Reginald Sorré Cole to calculate the surge characteristics of the main tunnel in Lochaber Hydro Electric Scheme by an interative process. Cole's paper "The Surge Chamber in Hydro Electric Installations: Methods of Calculation" was published as "Selected Engineering Paper No. 55 by The Institution of Civil Engineers in 1927...", a Bell & Howell 16 mm cine camera in brown leather carrying case and a Polaroid Electric Eye 900 land camera, with flash units in brown leather carrying case CONDITION REPORTS Bell & Howell camera only - the leather case is broken, stitching is coming away, rather battered, etc. The camera itself - unknown if working. There are remnants of a glue like substance to the casing and some of the laminate is peeling on the cut out corners. Is grubby all over with some surface scratching and chips to the lacquer. The larger lens is rather dirty. See images. Although appears to be mainly on the exterior, although there is a black mark which appears to be inside the lens. The smaller lens appears again dirty, dusty but generally OK though with a larger scratch to the outside casing. General wear and tear conducive with age and use. See images for further detail.

A LEICA 11F RED DIAL CAMERA, 1952, numbered 762067, with 39th ed. Guide by W. D. Emanuel, original stitched leather case with strap and a larger pig skin case (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT) Generally good, in used condition with minor wear externally. The circular surface section to the left of the lens is missing its black textured surface. Some dust/dirt internally around the sensor/within the body of the camera (so could do with a clean). Lens appears visually ok. I cannot check the functionality of the camera, but I can hear the shutter working when the button is pressed. Some aging to the external case.
