A good Third Reich 7x50 naval prismatic binocular, by E Leitz, Wetzlar, bearing large eagle and swastika over “M”, serial number 6790/N, and Leitz serial number 262249, with non original leather carrying straps and lens cover, GC (worn commensurate with much use, brass rim to one objective lens slightly dented); in original Leitz leather case with carrying straps, dated 1939, the lid impressed with large eagle and swastika over “M”, and containing 2 dark green and 4 orange lens filters in small pouches in the lid.

Camps dans le style des rel. anciennes : pleine basane peinte, plats sertis d`un double cadre de roul. à froid avec fleurons d`angle et fleuron central, dos à nerfs fleuronné à froid, gardes de papier marbré bleu, tr. jaspées de rouge. Est. : 200/ 250 € Édition originale de cette intéressante étude descriptive dont le but est de rétablir la vérité, en se basant sur les textes et les monuments, face aux libertés prises par certains artistes dans leur interprétation des vêtements antiques. Exemplaire complet des 51 planches, figurant 161 sujets, réalisées d`après les dessins de l`auteur lors de son voyage à Rome.
