A George III carved ivory drum form box,possibly for gaming counters or dice, with a lift off lid. Applied gold bands with bright cut decoration and a polychrome enamelled playing card insert to the lid, the King of Clubs, to an oxblood ground. Tested as approximately 14-15ct gold. 33 x 29mm, 17.76gProvenance: The Peter and Pat Crofts CollectionCondition report: Some surface marks to the enamel. Some of the marks are bubbles in the enamel that have worn and filled with dirt over the years, others are scratches.Under a 10X lens, a minor loss to the gold band that borders the enamel plaque. Glue residue to the outer gold band and the one on the base.Marks to the surface of the ivory.Hairlines and marks to the ivory base.
