A large late 19th/early 20th century lacquered brass astrologer's telescope, the 130cm brass tube with rack and pinion focus lens on cast iron swivel mount, and further tripod base, together with one other part telescope and probably associated stand?From a local collector. Missing one lens but otherwise seems to be intact and working.
An Edwardian silver prize medallion for 'The Photographic News' awarded to A.J. Hillier circa 1904. The front with a titled panel within laurel wreaths, the back with a bellows camera on a tripod and a symbolic neoclassical depiction of Light (probably Aurora or Eos representing dawn or Theia goddess of sight and brilliance) holding a camera lens observing a plaque held by a kneeling winged putto, with silver hallmarks for J A Restall & Co., Birmingham 1904, 39mm diameter, 23grams; in a fitted leather case. Note The Photographic News was published from 10th September 1858 until 1908
