The lid of the case with white metal plate engraved ‘Presented to Mr James Duningham Gross by the Minister and congregation of St Johns Church, Woodbridge as an acknowledgement for his valued and continued gratuitous service as organist 1864’ together with a wooden case containing approximately sixty slides and six books on microscopes including Microscope Teachings by The Hon.
