Compur Rapid shutter rangefinder with Tessar lens, leather case. Up for auction is this Super Ikonta 532/16 folding 120-roll film camera. Produced in the days when medium format roll film was the standard in amateur and professional photography, the Super Ikonta was legendary Zeiss Ikon's effort to combine modern convenience with classic design. Chromed, nickeled, all steel and leatherette bound, the Ikonta was as capable a shooter as it was handsome to behold. Zeiss, still a paragon of optical precision, included a coupled rangefinder, broad range of speeds, and a mechanical film counter- then, an extremely innovative feature for a film format that lacks countable sprocket holes. While all cameras sold through Whitley's are offered in as-is and un-serviced condition unless otherwise noted, this Ikonta's film advance and counter work as expected, bellows appear tight and uncracked, and the shutter cocks and fires- speeds and setting unconfirmed. A small remote cable is also to be found in the case. Issued: 1937-1955 Dimensions: 6.5"L X 2.5"D X 5"H in case Manufacturer: Zeiss Ikon Country of Origin: Germany Condition: Age and use related wear, as-is.
