A GOMZ Reporter Strut Folding Camera, black, serial no. 0052, with Industar f/3.5 105mm lens, serial no. 177772, body, G-VG, shutter not operational, lens, VG, small bubble to front element; developed by Ionnissiani with help from engineers Rybnikov, Postnikov, and Pimenov. The Reporter is a hybrid Klapp-type folder, half Plaubel Makina, half Zeiss-Ikon Nettar. However, the Reporter is more than a mere copy; it is proof that the Russian engineers and designers had mastered a complex technology in only a few years and at times to innovate. Presented in the July 1937 issue of the magazine ?Lubitel Foto? (Photo Amateur) and in the November 1938 issue of Sov. Foto, in an article by I. Ouvarov, the director of GOMZ, the Reporter did not actually enter production until 1939. Up until 1999, the only serial numbers known are 25, 54, 151, 201, 234,286, 312,343,407, 426, and 432
