A cased pair of Lieberman & Gortz binoculars, a cased set of German mother of pearl opera glasses, circa 1900 and another pair of opera glasses. CONDITION REPORT: The large pair of binoculars appear to operate as they should. They do focus. There are some minor abrasions to the lens covers and there is a crack to the left-hand eye piece surround. The case is worn at the extremities and the strap is damaged. The opera glasses have lost much of their original gold-plated finish and are now principally brass. The mother of pearl sections are in good order. The focusing mechanism operates. The brasswork is in generally good condition. The lenses are generally dirty and require a thorough clean. The case is worn to the interior and the base is a little loose. The leatherwork is scuffed. The hinges are intact. The Rand binoculars appear to operate as they should. The outer case has some minor blemishes. There should be a plaque between the two lenses when the case is open. This plaque is missing. The focus mechanism operates as it should. The outer case is a little worn at the edges and corners. The original instruction booklet is present. The green cloth bag may well be original.
A pair of gilt metal and mother of pearl opera glasses, with telescopic handle, and a black lacquered and leather bound pair of opera glasses. CONDITION REPORT: The opera glasses with the handle are in generally good condition. The brasswork is in good order with no significant wear to the gilding. The glasses do focus. There are no significant blemishes to the mother of pearl. The black paint around the inside edge of the large lens is missing to a large extent on one lens and there are minor losses to the other. The small pair of opera glasses appear to operate as they should. They are a little tired. All leatherwork is present but a little dirty. The black painted metal finish is rubbed in places. The outer case is split at one seam and worn to the top and interior particularly.
