WW1 Royal Flying Corps Mark II Goggles, brown leather surrounds to the tinted glass lenses with blackened brass frames. Leather with gilt tooled “GOGGLE MASK FLYING MARK II THE TRIPLEX GOGGLE MASK & LENS CO LTD”. Complete with the head strap. Fur backing to the mask has worn away considerably in places. Original owners name label stitched to the reverse “A. AP. ELLIS”. Generally good condition.

ZEISS, JENA A RARE PAIR OF ASTRONOMICAL 12-24-42x60 VARIABLE MAGNIFICATION BINOCULARS, MODEL 'STARMORBI', serial no. 1534, circa 1925 and designed for astronomical observation, of roof-prism design with jointed barrels with central bar and peg mount, the ocular lenses housed on rotating mounts, each mount sporting an individually focusing eye-piece for 12, 24 and 42 magnifications, the central mount marked with the Carl Zeiss Jena trademark above 'STARMORBI' and the serial number, the barrels and prism housings finished in a black stippled covering, the remainder in gloss black, retaining their original spring steel objective lens caps, original hard rubber cups for the ocular lenses and contained in a later possibly custom made leather carry-case, overall length of binoculars 19in., weight without case approx. 14lbs. and complete with a 'Velbon' aluminium tripod adapted for same.
