Pair of WWII German Kreigsmarine binoculars in case Pair of WWII German Kreigsmarine 7x50 binoculars, code stamped 'beh' for Leitz, also bearing the stamps 'T, KF, M' and numbers 330212 and 23628N, also stamped with an eagle and swastika, and etched with an owners name V. Esch, in leather case also code stamped 'beh' for Leitz, dated 1942, the cover (lacking internal parts box) is stamped with and eagle and swastika above 'M'.The case measures 28cm high The lenses are reasonably clear and free from scratches with exception to the right hand objective lens which has a scratch to the outer edge. Both ocular lense adjust in and out of focus. There is a fair amount of finish wear to the black paint as well as some signs of corrosion or finish bubbling mainly around the bases of the ocular lense tubes. There are two chips to the left hand eyepiece surround. There is a vacant loop or catch which is fitted to the hinge of body bridge. The textured leatherette covers are generally good but there is one small blistered area due to a small cut in the cloth, this can just be made out as a faint line in the main image online looking at the left hand tube towards the objective lens. The case lacks the internal parts box, there is significant perishing to the leather straps with one loop on the side ripped. Nothing is known of the history of these binoculars.
