Terry Scales, British b.1932- "The Royal Yacht Britannia's Last Voyage to London, farewell from Greenwich Pier", 2002; oil on canvas, signed and titled on the reverse, 71x91cm, (may be subject to Droit de Suite) Provenance: exhibited at The City of London Guildhall Art Gallery, 2003, and Duncan Campbell Fine Art, London, 2008. A copy of the exhibition catalogue for 'Terry Scales, Living by the River, celebrating a life by the Thames with four decades of oils and watercolours', 2-25 April, 2008, Duncan Campbell Fine Art, London, accompanies this lot. Note: Terry Scales exhibited alongside David Bomberg in the first Victoria Embankment Show of 1949. Scales has since exhibited at the Royal Academy, with the London Group, Arts Council of Great Britain and the Arts Council of Scotland. Other notable exhibitions include with Austin Desmond Fine Art, Belgrave Gallery, and Michael Parkin Galleries. A retrospective at the Financial Times followed in 1996 and 'Riverscape Shot' at the Age Exchange, Blackheath, for the Millennium Celebrations 2000.
