1st Life Guards early 19th Century Shoulder Scale. An exceedingly rare single example circa 1830. Gilt brass, the strap of simulated scales, each decorated with an oak leaf device. Within the crescent is mounted the title LG surmounted by a 1. The underside with scarlet cloth and lace attachment for the uniform. GC some mothing to the cloth underside.

French 19th Century Cuirassier’s Officer’s Helmet. A good example of an Officer’s helmet. The skull and peaks are of fire gilt. Surmounting the crown, a gilt metal comb, to each side floral leaf decoration. The front is with a Medusa’s head, below this a flaming grenade. The comb is surmounted, by a short black horse hair tuft plume in gilt holder, the rear of the helmet with a black horse hair tail. To the left side a gilt metal plume holder (One screw post absent) and two large gilt circular boss supports an inter linked , metal backed chin scales. The interior retains part of its original leather sweatband. Gilt remains bright, some age wear GC
