Fishing interest - early 20th century Hardy Brothers of Alnwick 8lb spring balance scales by Salter; together with a three bottle flask set in leather case (2).Condition ReportStoppers seized to both small bottles otherwise bottles and stoppers in good condition with no chips or cracks, leather case in good condition with just some general wear. Smaller bottles 3cms wide by 4.6cms high and larger 6cms wide by 4.6cms high.
dating: 19th Century provenance: Sudan, Long, straight, double-edged blade, of flat section, with central fuller through all the length and remains of small engravings at the base. Iron, cruciform quillon, with short langets. Cylindrical grip, covered with silver foil, carved with scales. Thick, cylindrical, silver pommel, with frames at the border and floral engravings on the back, provided with a nut-shaped button. Grip with rope and tassels. Leather scabbard of typical palmed shape, adorned with imprints and with silver chape and cap. Two lugs complete with a belt. length 106 cm.
dating: 1857 - 1860 provenance: USA, Faceted, cal. 31 barrel for 3-1/2', with ring-nut revolving in the front part, remains of marking 'NEW HAVEN CONN. / PATENT FEB. 14 1854' on the back. Tubular magazine integrated in the barrel, openable by rotating the front segment. The ammunition push slide is missing the flap. Brass frame in one piece with the grip. Sides engraved with flowers and leaves. Charging lever with circular ring, iron elevator block. Some pitting on the iron parts. Grip with antique grip scales (one with small restore), stamped with serial numbers matching on the pistol. SN '2xx'. In working order. A well-known and rare arm. Antique bluing. Hard-rubber, checkered grip scales with inscription 'COLT' in relief and milling. SN '31xxx' under the grip. The first Colt revolver with swingout cylinder design. In a wooden case, re-lined with purple velvet, complete with some accessories and original hammer (hammer mounted on a pistol is of modern production, installed by the owner to avoid the damage of the antique one). A leather belt is present as well, decorated with eyelets for eighteen cartridges and a holster (height 28.5 cm) suitable for revolver transportation, in leather as well, decorated with floral motifs. length 28 cm.
