The ridged breastplate drawn out to a slight central point, old repairs on the left side of the breast near the medial projection. The lower edge flaring slightly with fastening bolts for a (later) fauld. The matching backplate with roped and turned flanges.The attached cuisses each sliding on eleven lames, the lateral wings of the poleyns possibly of later date, with chased floral decoration. Large arm defences, the full pauldrons sliding on nine lames. Full rerebraces with closed couters, both with chased floral decoration. The vambraces opening on a hinge. Ridged gauntlets with metacarpi sliding on four lames. The knuckle ridges with pronounced roped flanges. Attached thumb and finger scales (later replacements). The cuffs tapering to a point, with roped and turned flanges. The underside of many components blackened and repaired, the leather lining renewed.
