A 19th century Apothecary Chest, lifting lid with brass swan neck handle, opening to reveal 12 bottle compartments containing C19th glass bottles, some original. The lower drawer reveals a lift out compartment with small brass and iron balance scales, when removed, revealing five added bottle compartments with bottles, glass pestle and mortar, two mixing bowls and brass weights, each in it`s own compartment. 10`` wide x 9`` high x 8`` deep.
A 19th century Mahogany Apothecary Chest. The box`s exterior having military style corners and handles brass escutcheon and ring handles. The red velvet lined lid revealing 17 bottle compartments, 16 of which still present including `Camphor Spirit` and Best Bark Powder. Also with a tile on which to chop the contents. The first drawer down has 10 compartments, 6 containing tins of `Sulphur` etc., large rear compartment of Ginger, two others one with velvet lined tray. The lower larger drawer having 18 compartments, 6 with bottles, two with camphor, long central pull-out section with balance scales and beneath it recipes, in the front sections are weights, 3 jars, an administration tube etc. 14`` wide x 11`` high x 9`` deep.
A Chinese aged pine bamboo libation cup, imitating a rhinoceros horn example, with a silvered copper liner, the exterior naturalistically carved to simulate a section of a pine tree, with gnarled branches and clusters of needles, covering nodules and scales representing tree bark, 18th century, 14.5cm. A unique ensemble from former Aircrew member, c. 1940s, comprising Irvin Flying-suit jacket & trousers, and sheepskin-lined boots and head-set, dressed on display-mannequin, complemented by very rare full-kit original canvas flight-bag containing Navigation-board, Dalton Computer, scales-plotters, parallel-rule and his personal cased Mk IX Bubble-sextant, all complete exactly as used on his last mission.
