The smallest with silver, stamped grip scales. One in white metal, engraved. One with green grip scales (veined) and stamped blade. The last one complete with case. length closed 58 - 82 mm.
dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Belgium, Octagonal, smooth-bore (damages inside), finished, 8 mm cal. barrel, with remains of stamp and serial number '1284', right lateral fore-sight; smooth frame engraved with floral motifs, vertical, four-shot magazine, engraved en suite. Lower, ring-trigger. Butt with wooden grip scales, engraved upper band, with crowned stamp 'JR'. length 26 cm.

Big grip with white metal foils (silver?) richly engraved with rinceaux and frames and with some pierced elements; three, bone or light horn grip scales on both sides. Metal and bone cap with grooved button at the grip's top. The scabbard decorated en suite, with white metal mounts, richly engraved and plated with bone or light horn plaques. Big chape composed of various elements, two, articulated loops. length 105 cm.

dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Composed of a chanfron (horse mask), armor composed of two elements, saddle (kura), abumi and saddle-pad.The mask in NERIKAWA (boiled leather), shaped as dragon's head with long eyebrows and mustaches, copper, gilded eyes with pupil lacquered in black, teeth painted in silver, the rest in gold, black and red, movable ears.The armor in two pieces, both composed of numerous, hexagonal, gold-lacquered, leather plates and sewn on a rose, linen fabric, with border sewn in bordeaux deer-leather; front part provided with scales patterned in fish-bone on the back. Orange rope making. Wooden, lacquered saddle (kura), front and back part in brown lacquer with golden mon, internal parts in red lacquer (parts of the lacquer missing), the small saddle cover in gray leather (later), original straps for abumi with remains of gilding, leather, lined panels under the saddle, painted with golden dragons on a green background, golden borders. The part below in linen. Rope, net saddle-pad on a blue, linen background, provided with three mon. Leather border with remains of gilding. Military Interest - A George III mahogany apothecary chest, circa 1790-1800, rectangular form, the lid with engraved brass medallion inscribed "A. Dunlop, Surgeon, 38 Regt.", the interior fitted with glass bottles, jars and four tin canisters with ring handles, some bottles with label for chemist "J.H. Pickering, The Victoria Pharmacy, 384 Wick Road, Hackney Wick", all over a lower drawer with apothecary scales and a folding leather wallet containing a surgeon's field kit, the accessories stamped "Overhill, Huish Road S.E.", the case with brass bindings and brass carrying handles, the bottles most likely relabelled circa 1900. Width 36.3 cm, height 21 cm, depth 28.8 cm. NOTE - A. Dunlop, Surgeon, commissioned 2nd August 1796, retired 24th November 1803. The 38th (1st Staffordshire) Regiment of Foot during the Napoleonic Wars saw action in The West Indies and in 1796 took part in the capture of St. Lucia and the following year Trinidad (see illustration).
A set of hand held brass apothecary scales, 19th century, with box ends, the beam stamped "P. Rogers & Co.", to weigh 2 ozs (the 2 has been overstruck by a 1) and with brass circular hands, the suspension struck with VR cipher. 10 grain weights, 3 circular apothecary weights and 13 square apothecary weights, all in a mahogany fitted case with red plush lining and applied gilt label for "Reynolds & Branson Ltd., Makers Leeds". The beam 16 cm. NOTE - The original company can be traced back to 1816 but throughout the 19th century changed hands until eventually in 1844 Richard Reynolds joined the company as an apprentice and in 1883 Frederick W. Branson joined the business thus forming Reynolds & Branson.
