An unusual silver-mounted sword, Burmese or Malaysian, 19th Century with finely watered curved single-edged blade, engraved silver cross-piece formed of a pair of straight quillons with flattened globular terminals, engraved silver pommel cap, finely carved ivory grip formed as a pair of demons, and silver knuckle-chain, in its original velvet-covered wooden scabbard with large silver mounts pierced and chased with flowers and foliage inhabited by birds and fish; a Persian shamshir, 19th Century, with curved single-edged watered blade retaining traces of a calligraphic cartouche (areas of pitting), steel cross-piece, and horn grip-scales, in associated scabbard; another, 18th Century, with curved watered blade, iron cross-piece decorated with a calligraphic cartouche, and ivory grip-scales; another, 19th Century, similar; and two middle Eastern swords, 19th Century, each in its scabbard the first: 81.2 cm 32 in blade (6)

A Fine Daghestani Kindjal, second half of the 19th Century with slender blade tapering to a sharp point, cut with an off-set fuller on each face and with a brief inscription on one side, ivory grip-scales profusely inlaid with gold scrolling foliage and pellets, fitted with a nielloed and parcel gilt repousee collar at the bottom and retained by a pair of cone-shaped washers en suite, in its original wooden scabbard entirely encased in nielloed and parcel-gilt silver with repousee designs of scrolling flowers and foliage and the outer face set with large panels of ivory inlaid with gold shaped scrolling foliage and cartouches en suite with the hilt, and the reverse chased with a brief inscription and the initials A.B. 51.7cm; 20.375in

A French silver-hilted hunting hanger, dated 1773 with broad slightly curved faux damascus blade cut with a broad fuller on each face and double-edged towards the point, decorated with a gilded panel filled by a profile bust of a Turk between the initials 'SC' on one side and the date and 'Constantinople' on the other side at the forte, silver hilt comprising broad short cross-piece decorated with repousee foliage and a stylised scallop on each side, and large ebony grip fitted with a silver repousee collar at the base and applied with stars, a crescent and a profile bust of a Turk on each side (the grip cracked on one side); and a Mameluke-hilted sword for a child, by Phelps & Co., Calcutta, Delhi & Simla, 19th Century, with etched blade, gilt-brass cross-piece cast in low relief, bone grip-scales, in its silver-plated steel scabbard engraved with scrolling foliage and large gilt-brass mounts cast en suite with the cross-piece, contained in its mahogany presentation case lined with padded blue silk (now faded to light brown) the first: 54.4 cm ; 21.375in blade (2) The hunting sword commemorates the Ottoman victory against the Russians outside Constantinople in 1773, which led to the Treaty of Kuchuk-Kainardji and the end of Catherine the Great's first war with the Turks in 1774.

A rare 'Pantin' magnum Salamander paperweight 19th century, the reptile formed with a black body, four legs and a tail enamelled with yellow scales and two red eyes, encompassed by two yellow Kingcup flowers growing from long leaves, set on an opaque-white ground mottled with moss green grass on buff-coloured sand, 10.1cm. diameter by 8.2cm. high, 4in. by 3.25in.
