The central enamel inscription reads 'Duty Medal' and is surrounded by seven roundels which contain an open book, pen and feather, soldier, the all-seeing eye, khanjar dagger, scales, and the crescent and star.The Medal for Honour and Security is bestowed upon Police and Security force members who have performed duty with the utmost honesty and sincerity. The Medal features an outer design of seven petals, representative of the seven Emirates.
