A Victorian Hallmarked Silver Mother of Pearl Folding Fruit Knife, JYC, Sheffield 1897, with gilted blade of chased foliage decoration and highly decorative scales, beaded accents throughout.The mother of pearl is in overall good condition. There is no movement when fully open, but once closed the blade does not fully sit in the handle. This causes movement of a spring like effect.

The silver lace band around the top has some loose threads and minor wear. The silver plated copper rose helmet plate is worn on the extremities. The surface of the peak is grooved and crazed. The end of the chinscales has some loose stitching to the leather backing. The crimson silk lining is slightly loose . The surface of the leather chinstrap is flaking. Generally in very good condition.
