The piece is an exceptional combination of translucent and opalescent glass, the latter in a shade of blue in keeping with the marine theme.The Lalique firm was originally founded by René Jules Lalique (1860 - 1945), one of the foremost glassmakers of the time, and one of the first to sculpt glass for large monumental works such as the fountains on the Champs Elysées. He enjoyed great renown for his original creations of jewellery, perfume bottles, glasses, plates, etc., in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. He trained with the Parisian jeweller Louis Aucoq, and then continued his studies at Sudenham Art College in London. The excellence of his creations and the taste he applied to his work earned him important commissions for the interior decoration of ships, trains such as the Orient Express, churches such as Saint-Nicasius in Reims, and numerous religious and civil goldsmiths' works. Lalique was not content with simply designing his models, but also founded a factory to produce them in large quantities, patenting several innovative glass manufacturing processes, and various technical effects such as "Lalique satin" or opalescent glass. Pieces by Lalique are preserved in prominent museums such as the Corning Museum of Glass and the Metropolitan Museum of Glass in New York, the Louvre and the Orsay Museum in Paris, among many others.

Taxidermy: A Cased Immature White-tailed Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla), circa 1882, by P.D. Malloch, Taxidermy, Perth Scotland, 1875-2020, a large full mount immature White-tailed Sea Eagle perched atop a large painted faux rock, amidst seaweed and shells, above painted groundwork beneath, set against a pale blue painted back drop, enclosed within a typical large period ebonised three-glass display case, 71cm by 34.5cm 93cm, signed and dated to rockwork - "P.D. Malloch, Perth, 1882".P.D. Malloch were a famous old-time fishing tackle shop located in Perth, Scotland, which employed professional Scottish model makers who would create exact copies of your trophy fish. Malloch models divided up into 3 categories referred to as the early Malloch maker 1900-1922, the middle Malloch maker 1920s to the early 1930s, and the late Malloch maker from 1934-1952. P.D. Malloch also established the Tay Salmon Fisheries Company in 1899, buying up the fishing rights along the river and estuary and creating one of the biggest operations of its kind. Unfortunately, the company has now ceased trading as of February 2020 after being in business for 149 years.

NO RESERVE Alabaster figures.- Comptoir Italien d'Importation, album with 53 original gelatine photographs of alabaster, metal, and onyx sculptures, inserted into slots, light oxidation of some photos, original wrappers, stained, large tear to upper cover, crudely repaired with tape verso (now detached), bound with cord, [Italy], [c.1925]; and another album, similar, oblong 8vo (2)⁂ The sculptures, which include a high proportion of lasciviously posing women, appear to have been made to order. The subjects were clearly chosen for their saleability and dwell strongly on sentimentality of a bygone era. Subjects include naked ladies in shells, by pools, in waterfalls or wearing diaphanous clinging and revealing outfits, even the lady atop a mountain decked out in her climbing gear leaves nothing to the imagination. Other figures of children and reworked head and shoulder busts based on renaissance models are less revealing. The skill involved in their production was evidently high and were doubtless bought and sold as 'high art' in that age before Freudian analysis.

An instant cult-classic best known for its starring roll in the hugely popular TV show, Initial D, this UK-registered in 2017, Twin-Cam AE86 has been subject to a recently completed £20,000 restoration.Since the time of its launch in 1983, the Toyota Corolla GT Twin Cam 16 has been a popular choice for competitors in grassroots motorsport. The combination of a powerful engine mated to a lightweight chassis with rear-wheel drive has seen parallels drawn with the MkII Ford Escort and like the ‘Blue Oval’ car it was the rally circuits where the Corolla first found fame and, even today, the model remains competitive at Historic/Classic Group A and Group N events. Like any successful race/rally car, the Corolla spawned a host of look-a-like road cars with fans outfitting their cars with Superlite wheels and Cibie spot lights.After four short years, Toyota chose to retire the fifth generation of the Corolla with all future generations changing to front-wheel drive. The retirement did little to abate the cars popularity but with a shortage of original Irish/UK-spec cars, Twin Cam competitors and fans alike were forced to look further afield for fresh cars. Japanese-specification Levin and Truenos soon began to arrive on the slow boats from the East bringing with them a new form of motorsport in which the car already excelled at home – drifting.During the height of the boom, even bare shells were commanding substantial amounts, primarily fuelled by drift fans, with many 20-year old cars changing hands for the price of a new Corolla. Thankfully, things have settled down now but quality road cars continue to appreciate in value and the AE86 Twin Cam 16 is undoubtedly a very desirable modern classic.Presenting in truly outstanding condition, this AE86 has been subject to a thorough restoration costing more than £20,000. First registered on 01/03/1987, the car was then UK-registered on 01/06/2017 when purchased by our vendor. Its first owner, an older gentleman, unfortunately kept no documentation or history during his ownership, however, there is now a 7-page handwritten description by the restorer detailing the work undertaken for the 450 hour restoration to bring this car to such an exceptional standard. The shell was reportedly in good condition, however, it was stripped to bare metal and any imperfections were reconciled with new metal fabricated and welded in. Once the shell was complete, it was bead-blasted, primed and fully seam-sealed as per factory finish. Effectively everything was stripped down, vapour-blasted and even the nuts and bolts were zinc plated. The engine and gearbox were rebuilt at 84,849km. The attention to detail in the engine bay and underside really displays the quality of the restoration.Covering less than 100 miles since completion, this OEM+ restoration is surely one of the finest to have been committed to the peppy little Japanese hatchback. With so many AE86s succumbing to rust and hard lives, this outstanding example presents a fabulous opportunity to enjoy or simply admire nostalgically as values continue to soar. The legendary RS2. A UK-supplied, right-hand drive example having recently emerged from long-term storage. Showing just 33,748 miles and finished in the desirable Nogaro Blue.The Audi RS2 is a limited-edition, high-performance five-door estate car manufactured between March 1994 and July 1995. It was an exciting collaboration between Audi and Porsche built on Audi’s 80 Avant model as a basis and, priced at £45,705 even 28 years ago, it was by no means inexpensive. Specially-finished Audi 80 Estate shells were shipped to Porsche’s Zuffenhausen facility in Stuttgart where they were fitted and enhanced with Porsche-designed suspension and braking system components.The Audi 2.2-litre, five-cylinder, 20-valve turbocharged engines were also enhanced for good measure by Porsche including the fitment of a KKK turbocharger. A six-speed manual transmission delivered power to all four wheels, through a manually activated locking differential at the rear axle. The resultant power output was a substantial 311bhp at 6,500rpm and 302lb-ft of torque at 3,000rpm, which enabled the RS2 to sprint from 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 163mph.Offered here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive example that was showing 33,748 miles at the time of cataloguing and is finished in desirable Nogaro Blue with Nogaro blue Alcantara with black hide seating. The V5 shows only two former keepers and this particular example has just emerged from a period of long-term storage.Between cataloguing the RS2, and the car arriving at the Silverstone Classic event, the car will be sent to our vendor's chosen specialist engineering company to carry out some light mechanical recommissioning following its long-term storage. Invoices and details of this work will be available to view over the course of the Silverstone Classic weekend or can be sent to you in advance. Winchester Royal Irish Constabulary 1897 12 bore pump action shotgun LICENCE REQUIRED Winchester Royal Irish Constabulary 1897 pattern 12 bore pump action three-shot shotgun, 26inch barrel, with 1/4 choke, London proof marks for 2 3/4" shells, the receiver stamped with Enfield inspection mark, the stock stamped 'RIC 780' serial number E719963 for 1922/ 23. The magazine tube has a 1990 Birmingham magazine restriction proof stamp.UK SHOTGUN LICENCE OR RFD REQUIRED14" LOP The Winchester pump action has a few professional repairs to the butt stock. There is a pinned repair along the bottom of the butt. There is also a wood pinned repair to the top of the stock at the wrist joint and two pieces spliced in at the bottom of this area. Extra images have been uploaded online showing this. The forend has some splits which look to have been stabilized with glue. There is a dark line on top of the comb of the butt which looks like an oil stain. The action functions correctly with snap caps. The bore has a fair amount of pitting marks which are probably too deep to polish out. These are mostly within the second half of the barrel towards the muzzle. The metalwork has a fair amount of original blue however this is wearing through in places, especially on the barrel, magazine tube, and top parts of the receiver.
