Bow; a c1770 centrepiece with shallow bowl and three larger bowls to base encrusted with shells, possibly Shell or Vai pattern, supported on peg feet, height 12cm (af). CONDITION REPORT Some hairline cracks to the base and chips to the three supports. 5cm crack to underside, extensive damage to relief shell decoration. Damage to three feet.

A Sepik war trumpet Papua New Guinea wood, carved a mask with applied shells, with a bird behind and with a carved body, pigment decoration, 65cm long. Provenance Cyrille Vanheyst, Palm Beach, Sydney. Cyrille Vanheyst made many trips to New Guinea between 1957 - 1970 in his capacity as a mine engineer advising on several major projects.

An old collection of seashells formed by Elizabeth Gray between 1871-1876, the mahogany chest inset with silver cartouche, inner lid inscribed with owners name and dates, with three lift out trays containing approx. 100 shells including Nautilus, Lambis, Murex, Oliva, Trochus niloticus etc, the chest 31cm high x 45.5cm wide x 29cm deep, together with a larger pine chest from the same collection, with four lift out trays and many shells, 34cm high x 61cm wide x 38.5cm deep (2)
A Barr Flight & Barr milk jug c.1804-13, printed in black with arrangements of shells and a sea urchin between small gilt sprigs, a Barr Flight & Barr saucer printed with long-tailed birds in flight, and a Flight, Barr & Barr coffee can gilded with a formal husk band, impressed marks, 15.6cm max. (3) Provenance: the Professor Richard Clarke Collection.
A previously unrecorded white-glazed Bow figure group c.1758-60, emblematic of the changing year, embodied by five putti standing on a rocky base, four representing the seasons of Spring through to Winter with varying attributes, the central figure holding a basket containing the fruits of the year, and a staff in his right hand, all raised on an unusual pierced rocky base with a recumbent goat and lamb among applied flowers, shells and coral, the base with an impressed T mark, possibly relating to John Toulouse, some restoration, 19.8cm high. Provenance: from a deceased estate on the Channel Islands.

A reticule finely worked with glass beads, 1820s, with fruits, shells and foliage to central ground, short looped fringing, lined in striped silk and beaded along interior edge, 19cm, 7.5in long CONDITION REPORT: Overall beading is good and intact with some losses. 2cm split at top and approx. 3 tiny breaks in beadwork here also, beading has come unstitched from backing along seam here also. 2cm to green silk lining (minor). Losses to interior band of beadwork. Stain to lining, not visible to exterior.
Two pairs of Yves Saint Laurent earrings, 1980s, signed, the first example oversized gilt shells, the second rhinestone studded starfish; together with a pair of faux coral and shell-shaped earrings with rhinestone droplets, approx 6cm diam (6) CONDITION REPORT: Faux coral pair are probably missing 6 rhinestone droplets, although not immediately obvious. One may have been re-glued/repaired along join of faux coral and gilt shell. Snail-shell pair and starfish pair are good condition.
