A Perspex Aquarium Mantel Timepiece, signed Jaeger LeCoultre, model: Marina, circa 1975, single line lever visible movement, perspex case depicting fish seaweed and shells, stepped lacquered brass base, case back with a fixed winding key and adjustment hand set knob, 21cm by 18cm see illustration 18.07.19 Perspex case with very minor chips to the edges, perspex with light surface scratches, bottom right hand side with fractures within the perspex, brass surfaces with rubbing in parts to the lacquer, winding smoothly and hand setting correctly, movement in going order.

Directions necessary to be observed by Persons who would collect Subjects of Natural History, letter-press, 235mm x 370mm, London: [Andrew Peter Dupont, c.1760] The directions begin, 'Remember, if the Ship touches at any Port in her Passage, to collect any of the undermentioned subjects' before listing ten categories of natural history, including 1. Shells, 2. Sea plants, Corals, etc.,3. Land and Sea Crabs,Lobsters, etc., 4. Sea Stars, 5. Sea Eggs, 6. Ores, Metals and Minerals, etc., 7. Earths, Clays, Stone, etc., 8. Woods, Seeds and Fruits, 9. Lizards and Snakes, Birds, Frogs and Toads, etc., 10. Butterflies, Insects, etc. Such directions were common in the mid-eighteenth century and this example has been attributed to the naturalist Andrew Peter Dupont. We are grateful to the Natural History Museum in London for their assistance with this lot.
A PAIR OF REGENC? STYLE WALNUT AND BEECH ARMCHAIRS, the arched back and serpentine seat upholstered in contemporary floral needlework centred with a fruiting tree, the serpentine arms, apron and cabriole legs carved with shells and foliage joined by moulded wavy X-stretchers, probably originally painted or gilded, late 19th century. A late 19th century freestanding French bowfronted glazed corner vitrine, with part glazed door above an inlaid panel of musical instruments and flowers tied by a ribbon, the shells in a claret upholstery, with gilt metal mounts all upon shaped legs. Height 158 cm, width 52 cm, depth 36.5 cm.
A Chinese blue and white vase and cover, early 18th century, the shallow domed cover with ball knop decorated with butterflies, prunus and lingzhi, the tall neck similar and with a shoulder of prunus blossom and lozenge shells with four cartouche depicting a mountainous landscape, bamboo leaves, fir tree and prunus, the inverted baluster body with long tailed birds amongst peony and branches all above a stiff leaf base, under glaze blue hand painted seal mark for Quangshi (1662-1722). 46.5 cm high.
