An interesting composite sword, 17th Century broad double edged blade 25 in., three narrow fullers grouped close to the centre and bearing armourer's marks, fitted with a 1796 pattern Infantry Officer's hilt, fixed outer and hinged inner shells, knuckle bow and urn pommel, silver wire bound grip, hilt retaining traces of gilt.

A SUPERB AND RARE PAI R OF 18th/19th CENTURY GILT BRONZE VERSAILLE LANTERNS, of cage form with corona finial above four carytid mounts in the form of Neptune. Each lantern inset with 56 panels of bevelled glass, mounted with shells and lion masks to base. 4 ft high. These lanterns are modelled on the originals which hang in the Palace of Versaille. The originals were first produced in the mid 18th Century. Each panel of glass is unusually bevelled which suggests the lamps are of the highest quality.

An early George III mahogany-framed library armchair with upholstered arched rectangular back padded arms with fluted downswept supports carved with scallop shells and acanthus, and on four tapering square legs carved with scallop shells above foliate paterae and bellflower chains, on stepped square feet with brass castors, restorations. *This armchair (especially the legs) closely resembles a parcel-gilt mahogany example designed by William Kent for Rousham Park, Oxfordshire, circa 1738
