A 19TH CENTURY QUARTZ PENDANT/BROOCH, of lozenge-shaped form, the oval and circular mixed-cut quartz in pink foiled closed-back settings, to a cannetille mount of scrolls, beads and shells, below a ropetwist loop, (pin fitting replaced), suspended from a later fancy-link chain stamped '9ct', together with a further pendant, modelled as a buckle, highlighted with garnets and seed pearls, (later fitting, pearls untested for origin), first pendant length 4.1cm (2)

The intricate incised carving was done using sharks teeth, shells and stones.

A Medieval Pilgrim rattle 14th Century.A pewter Pilgrim's rattle, an openwork sphere containing two loose cockleshell's in pewter/lead. The scallop shells inside are a symbol of pilgrimage itself. These noise making souvenirs fit in with ceramic horns and whistles of the period. The rattles appear to by exclusively English, some dating to the 1300 and they are now thought to originate on London or Canterbury, approx 40 mm diameter (handle is missing)

The sitter, Priscilla A Osborn, nee Jenks, was born on 28th June 1789 and died on 6th September 1853. The present portrait is a copy of the original (whereabouts unknown) of the early 19th century. ++In good unrestored condition, the varnish requiring a light clean.
