A gilt bronze hall lantern in Renaissance Revival taste, later 19th century, the ovoid frame cast with lambrequins, helmeted soldiers and an openwork gallery with shells and scrolls, inset with bowed frosted glass panes, approximately 150cm high overallCondition Report: The lantern bears the usual minor marks, knocks, scuffs and scratches overall consistent with age and use. One of the soldiers' swords has broken off and is missing.The lot also has a terminal, not pictured, which is currently detached.The frosted glass panes are held in place with some more recent fitments to the interior, and are possibly associated.Aside from some rubbing to exposed extremities, and one bright verdigris area of oxidisation to the interior (circa 1x2cm) the gilding is relatively even though there is light coloured residue in the recesses, dust or possibly polish.
