LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY MEISSEN FIGURE OF 'NEPTUNE' modelled of Neptune, with gray hair and a laurel wreath, nude with a maroon and gilt cloth draped across his lap, he rests atop a rocky ledge encrusted with shells and sea vegetation, with a cornucopia across his lap, filled with a bouquet of wildflowers, wheat and gold coins, resting his arm on an urn with the sea pouring out, the urn adorned with a intricate design of a crest, all atop a rocaille and gilt detailed base, marked with factory mark in blue underglaze under base; height: 32 cm (12 5/8 in.), length: 32 cm (12 5/8 in.) CONDITION The porcelain figural group appears in very good condition. A visible discoloration to Neptunes chest. Overall a heavy layer of dust. Inspection under UV shows fluorescence to his chest and face.N.B. All lots are sold in as-is condition at the time of sale.
