2000 Bentley Arnage (Red Label) Transmission: automaticMileage:27380Launched in 1998, the Arnage was built and designed in Crewe under BMW’s short-lived stewardship and named after a famous corner at Le Mans. The Arnage Green Label was to be all new, and featured BMW’s proven 4.4 litre V8 with the addition of twin turbos and some serious engineering input from the brains at Cosworth. The Rolls-Royce Seraph was to employ a BMW V12 engine with 349bhp and 420lb/ft, the car had impressive mid-range and low-down punch, weighed less than the outgoing model, and boasted a five-speed automatic gearbox which offered greater flexibility and much improved economy. The Arnage Red Label was launched in October 1999 with the engine reverting back to Bentley power using the traditional V8 engine and a displacement of 6750cc. As part of the modification process, both Red and Green Label cars benefitted from expanded leg room in the cabin, stiffer body shells and larger wheels and brakes. The Arnage cost over £170,000 when new in 1998 and that was before any bespoke options were considered. This excellent 2000 Bentley Arnage Red Label was supplied new in April 2000 by Jack Barclay of Barclay Square, London. Since rolling out of the showroom this car has covered only 27,400 miles from new, which is supported by the stamped service book - the most recent service being in May 2021 - and the MoT history. Finished in dark Sapphire Blue with Oatmeal leather interior, blue carpets and burr walnut dashboard and door cappings, this Arnage is supplied with all the usual refinements including rear vanity mirrors, front and rear park distance control, GPS Sat Nav system with fold away colour screen, heated seats, dual zone climate control, electric rear seats, 18” alloy wheels, cruise control, electric steering column and electric power folding mirrors. This lovely Arnage Red Label comes with a UK V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in June 2022, the Vehicle Specification sheet and the stamped up service book. Whether driving or being driven in, an example such as this Bentley provides a memorable experience and, considering the specification and mileage, it certainly appears to offer exceptional value for money given the estimate.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1928 Buick Master Six Transmission: manualMileage:59688Buick holds the distinction of being the oldest active American marque and the original Buick Motor Company was a cornerstone of the establishment of General Motors in 1908. Before the establishment of General Motors, GM founder William C. Durant, previously served as Buick's general manager while his friend Louis Chevrolet worked as a racing driver for Buick. Buick gave both the Standard and Master model’s smoother radiator shells, double belt mouldings, and a straight tie-rod connecting both headlamps. The Master Six was offered in ten body styles that ranged from Saloon, DeLuxe Saloon, Coupé, Tourer, Brougham Saloon, Sport Roadster, Country Club Coupé, and Sport Tourer. In 1939 Buick also pioneered the use of turn signals, which did not appear on other car brands until almost a decade later. This handsome Buick was purchased by the vendor whilst on an overseas trip to Portugal. He and his father fell in love with the lines of this American classic, purchased the car there and then and shipped the car back to the UK. Being knowledgeable classic car enthusiasts, throughout their stewardship the car has systematically undergone work, including an engine rebuild and as such presents in very good order today. The wooden artillery wheels are in good condition; the car certainly defies its 93 years of age. With an engine that starts on the button, we are advised by the vendor she drives well with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document, this Buick is regrettably being sold due to lack of storage space.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
1953 Austin Healey 100/4 Transmission: manualMileage:48405Historics are truly delighted to bring to auction what is without doubt the very best Austin Healey we have ever offered. It has been completely restored down to the very last nut and bolt by its current owner, a qualified engineer, over the last seven years, having been previously dry stored in a barn for a mere 36 years! Purchased from ourselves in March 2014, the fastidious owner wanted to restore the Healey to concours standard and uncovered some very interesting history along the way.Quite simply every part of this car has been restored as evidenced by pictures held on file and the attention to original detail is second to none. Finished in its original colour of Healey Grey i.e. light metallic blue with blue leather seats piped in grey, a blue PVC hood and full tonneau cover, everything about the vehicle is finished to ex-factory standard. The chassis and engine are the original items as fitted to the car and this is confirmed by the BMIHT certificate included in the history file. The engine has been fully rebuilt to run on unleaded fuel with new bearings, big end shells, timing chain and tensioner, pistons and rings and has also been balanced, resulting in a car that, according the owner, runs ‘like a sewing machine’, although with a little more power! The rear axle, overdrive unit and gearbox have also been overhauled by specialist Hardy Engineering who also fitted their last remaining NOS lay shaft to the gearbox.Although most small fittings and bumpers/over-riders were replaced, the owner was determined to retain the originality of the vehicle where possible. Many parts have been replated to the correct chrome or zinc/cad finish by Silva Bronz in Alton, Hampshire. Other items have all been extensively restored, including the grille, badges, switchgear and gear knob, distributor, coil, dynamo, starter motor, heater unit, fuel tank, sender unit, carburettors and steering wheel/column/horn assembly. The braking system has also been completely replaced as one would expect.NWD 980 was originally registered with the Donald Healey Motor Company in Warwick on 1st October 1953 as shown in the original buff log book and V5C that come with the car, with body number 235 and an ‘Austin of England’ boot badge which confirms this as an extremely early example of a BN1 Healey. The car even has the correct early two part dash finished in the correct dark blue paint from the 100S cars. Indeed, as the 25th oldest UK right hand drive example held on the AH 100/4 register it would be eligible for a host of classic car events including the Mille Miglia and various historic car events held at Goodwood and other notable venues.Furthermore, as this particular car was extensively raced in period at Goodwood and various other race and time trial events in the 1950's it is also eligible for a whole raft of historic events. Pictures of NWD 980 being raced at Goodwood and other South of England circuits along with other evidence are held in our files and are available for inspection.Whilst very little is known about NWD 980 from 1958 -1978, the first three years of its life were most exciting. A certain Harold Wakefield of Castrol Oil fame had a particular interest in MotoCross which in the 1950's was in its zenith. He had spotted that a couple of brothers - the Rickman boys - Derek aged 20 and Don aged 21, were totally dominant in the field and always came 1st or 2nd in all their races both in the UK and Europe. They had developed a Rickman Metisse competition motorbike with its famous nickel-plated frame/oil tank, on which they won most races they entered and were clearly destined for greater things. Harold wanted to get involved in a major way and offered the Rickman brothers a three year sponsorship deal. The offer was accepted and NWD 980 was delivered shortly afterwards to Derek's home near Southampton; a photograph in the history file shows the new car outside his house, a lovely momento given to the owner by Derek together with all the other black and white photos held in the file. His brother Don received another motoring classic - a Triumph TR2 - MCR 907. During the last seven years as the present owner has rebuilt the car, it has been featured in several magazine articles and has been a source of reference for a number of other local Healey rebuilds in and around the Thames Valley area. NWD 980 has been used sparingly since the rebuild but has proved to be a super car to drive as might be expected. Everything functions as it should and it is now ready to be thoroughly enjoyed by a new owner. To those of you who ask the obvious question ....’why sell it’?... the vendor answers thus; “I am really a fan of rebuilding classic cars, previous models include an MGC GT and an Austin Healey BT7...whilst they are a joy to drive, my pleasure really comes from doing all the repairs and reconditioning, it’s the attention to detail that I like and I think I might just squeeze in one more restoration before I hang up my tools”! A response which is certainly a blessing for the lucky new owner.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1958 Royal Enfield Constellation, 693 cc. Registration number 738 UXF (non transferrable). Frame number 7057. Engine number SM SA 6839.Like BSA and Triumph before it, Royal Enfield went on to enlarge its 500cc twin, eclipsing its rivals with the 700cc Meteor, Britain?s largest vertical twin at the time of its introduction for 1953. The crankcase remained fundamentally unchanged but the bore/stroke dimensions and engine top-end were those of the 350 Bullet, doubled up and restyled. Extensive revisions to the engine and the adoption of a new frame (shared by the Bullet singles) ushered in the Super Meteor in the autumn of 1955. While the Super Meteor was a fine performer, Enfield?s next development - the Constellation - was outstanding. Based on its immediate predecessor, the new sportster featured a 51bhp engine, revised frame and a handsome 4.25-gallon fuel tank. On test with Motor Cycling magazine in Belgium, a Constellation recorded a top speed of 115mph while averaging 51mpg, impressive figures by any standard.738 UXF was dispatched from the Redditch factory on the 3rd of July 1958 to Jaynes of Brynmawr, South Wales. It was the 95th Constellation built out of a believed 1389 and is a matching numbers example. Its life in Wales is unknown but in 2005 it was MOT'd in Swindon with a mileage of 10,842. In 2012 it was in County Waterford, Ireland where Joe Costello had the engine rebuilt including a crank regrind, new conrod and big end shells. Gordon Beard bought it in November 2011 and had a refurbished speedo fitted in 2014. Our vendor purchased it in July 2017 and has enjoyed using it, keeping it in it believed original condition. New tyres and tubes were fitted in 2018. He is now emigrating and cannot take it with him.Sold with the V5C, 2005 MOT, various paperwork, books, two cylinder heads and various other spares.
