T.L.S., Officer Maurice “Nick” McDonald, one page, 4to, Dallas Police Department, Dallas, Texas, 18th July 1979, to John F. Meek. McDonald sends his correspondent a few copies of official records and reports which he hopes he will find of interest and continues ‘Also, I am forwarding a ‘button’ from my uniform that I was wearing in 1963. I have also added a small photograph of me taken in front of the Texas Theatre, where I arrest Lee Harvey Oswald’. Accompanied by the various enclosures referred to, including McDonald’s personal small gold coloured circular City of Dallas pin (neatly affixed to a card) from his 1963 police uniform, a signed 2.5 x 3.5 photograph of McDonald in a half length pose wearing his uniform, signed in bold black ink with his name alone to a largely clear area at the head of the image, eleven 4to photocopied pages of various official City of Dallas Police Department reports etc. relating to the arrest of Oswald and the assassination of John F. Kennedy including a homicide report, handprints of Oswald, finger prints of Jack Ruby, statement of McDonald relating to the arrest and capture of Oswald etc., two of the pages signed in black ink by McDonald.
