A rare Cantagalli maiolica circular dish, late 19th Century, decorated after Benozzo Gozzoli`s frescoes in the Palazzo Riccardi, in coloured enamels, ruby and copper lustres and gilding, with two figures on horseback with standing attendants before turreted buildings in a lush landscape, blue painted cockerel mark and inscription to base, diameter approx 27.3cm (broken and glued). Note: a similar vase sold at Christies King Street, `Italian Ceramic Art 1400-1900`, 22nd April 2008, lot 126.
