An oval "Palais Royale" chalcedony desk seal , surmounted by a yellow metal head of an eagle having ruby cabochon eyes and blue enamelled plumage (enamel damaged), the matrix engraved with a crest of sailing ship, glove and cross of Lorainne with motto "Touch not the cat but a glove". 2 1/4 in. (5.5cm) high.
