AN ANTIQUE INDIAN RUBY AND CARVED EMERALD PENDANT The oval polished ruby within a scrolled gold border, set into a carved emerald, the back carved with a reclining deity below a polished leaf, later gold coloured bale Size/dimensions: 3.4cm wide Gross weight: 13.2 grams Condition Report: The pendant shows signs of age and use. The bale is later glued onto the panel, it has a drill hole to the top of the emerald where it would have been suspended. The emerald has some nicks and nibbles and fractures, untested for enhancements. The gold is not tested for carat, it is in our opinion it is likely to be 18 carat or more. A LATE 19TH CENTURY RUBY FIVE STONE RING The five graduated cushion shaped rubies with triangular cut rubies between, to a pierced scrolled gallery, the shank with partial 18ct stamp Size/dimensions: ring size approximately Q Gross weight: 4.8 grams Condition Report: There is some glue behind the central ruby, a large chip to one side of the stone from the table to the girdle and a fracture to one side, scratches and abrasion and typical inclusions, the other stones have some smaller chips, and abrasion commensurate with age and use. The rubies are bright and well matched. All the triangular ruby detail is present. The back of the shank has been extended creating an oval shape, the 18ct stamp is not original to the ring, but it does appear to be high carat gold.
