General surface wear, scuffs, scratches and chips/nicks throughout, with occasional shallow dings/impressions, commensurate for use. Marks have patchy wear but are legible. One of the cabochon eyes has a deeper profile than the other and both are scuffed. The coiled section is hollow and it is possible that it contains a metal core/spring, but we are unable to confirm this as the interior of the bangle cannot be viewed. Metal standard is untested. A French enamel and ruby vinaigrette pendant, the circular hinged vinaigrette applied with a cluster of leaves, heightened with shades of graduated green and yellow enamel, interspersed with circular mixed-cut rubies, the reverse with pierced and engraved foliate decoration, suspended from a fine trace-link chain, each with eagle's head control mark, the pendant with partial lozenge-shaped maker's mark, pendant length 3.05cm, chain length 40.5cmSurface wear, nicks/minor chips and scuffs to enamel, but no apparent losses. Rubies have slightly variable pinkish-red hues and contain mineral, fracture and zoning inclusions, but have a lively appearance. Most have surface wear and small nicks/chips. The mount has surface wear, scuffs and nicks, commensurate for use. The cover closes fairly tightly to the base with a little gapping to the sides and has slight play to the hinge. Maker's mark to loop fitting is partial and illegible. Eagle's head marks to pendant and chain are clearly struck. Surface wear to chain, clasp is functioning, solder join/repair to end loop. The chain also has a lozenge-shaped maker's mark, possibly 'MC'. Gross weights approximately: pendant 8.5gm, chain 2.2gm.
A ruby and diamond panel ring, the shaped oval millegrained panel centred with a cushion-shaped mixed-cut ruby between pairs of rectangular step-cut rubies, bordered by graduated round brilliant and single-cut diamonds, above a scroll pierced gallery, white precious metal mounted, stamped 'PLAT', total diamond weight approximately 0.55ct, ring size approximately R (later sizing beads)The principal ruby has a mid purplish/pinkish-red hue and contains fracture/fissure inclusions, whilst retaining good transparency. Some of the fractures are surface-reaching and the ruby is abraded, with several chips and some deep scuffs. Principal ruby dimensions approx. 6.5mm length x 6.8mm width x 3.3mm depth. Bordering rubies are well matched, of similar hues, all with abrasion, scuffs and chips. Diamonds are well matched, bright and lively, the two larger diamonds containing fracture inclusions and occasional stones with small nicks/chips. Estimated VS2 to P1 clarity and H to J colour, assessed mounted. Diamonds graduate in size from approximately 0.10ct to 0.05ct each. The ring mount has general surface wear, chips and scuffs, with patchy thinning to the edges of the setting, and solder joins visible at the junctions of the setting to the shoulders and at the junctions of the shoulders to the shank. It is likely that the shank has been replaced. The shank also has a re-sizing solder join and later added sizing beads. Metal standard is untested. Panel dimensions approx. 1.55cm length x 1.45cm width. Gross weight approx. 6.5gm.
