There would have originally been a drop suspended from the doves beak- there is a small vacant hole. The brooch fitting is later. The setting is unmarked, but is in our opinion gold. Floral spray brooch- The brooch has possibly been made using components from other pieces, but well matched, there is some lead solder visible to the stalk where the wire supports have been attached, the main flowerhead has a replaced/repaired petal, noticeable from the reverse. All stones present and correct, some typical discolouration to the turquoise from age.Condition Report Disclaimer
A mid 19th century turquoise, ruby, diamond and pearl St Esprit brooch, circa 1860, set with cabochon turquoise, the head set with an old cut diamond, the eyes set with rubies, with a pearl suspended from the beak, on a later bar brooch, 4.8cm wide, 7.5g gross Condition Report: Only one diamond set to its head - none on the tail. The tails has a later loop lead soldered on. The brooch fittings is not original. There is discolouration to turquoise. One has been glued into place. It is possible the tail may have been shortened.
