A RUBY AND OLD CUT DIAMOND RING the white metal mount is set with a central ruby cabochon with approx dimensions 6.6mm x 3.67mm, with four satellite rubies of approx 3mm x 1.5mm, with eight old cut diamonds set between in groups of two, with a combined estimated approx carat weight of 0.40cts, the head of the ring is approx 12mm square. finger size I (I for India) weight 3gms Condition Report:No hallmarks or makers marks to go on, I estimate from the style that it will be from the late 19th century to early 20th. The diamonds are wobbly old cuts as in not evenly cut, cut to maximise the stones. The ruby has some abrasions to the surface, which also highlights the linear banding, indicative of ruby. Good colour but all quite included. Mount handmade, and good
