JOY DIVISION VINYL. Lovely pack of rare vinyl to include Closer 180g reissue (0190295797119), Unknown Pleasure limited edition ruby red 180g reissue (0190295443238), sealed Joy Division +- singles 1978-80 box set, an original 7" test pressing of Atmosphere (FAC213) plus Grace Jones performing She's Lost Control across 3 formats (12", 7" and CD). All are generally in Ex+ to NM condition.I enjoyed the playback sessions of the new remaster of ‘Unknown Pleasures’ so much in Walthamstow. Brand new record on an analogue Hi-Fi system through an analogue P.A. The sound was wonderful... I was lost in it. I was so looking forward to the ‘Closer’ ones which we were going to do all over England... but Covid struck ;( Grace Jones was, of course, the first artist to cover a Joy Division song, ‘She’s Lost Control’ with Sly and Robbie, the first money we ever earned, £2K, we were delighted. Pottsy and me were asked by Polydor’s infamous A an R man ‘The Colonel’ (the same one who bought us a round of drinks at The Moonlight Club in London that Ian Curtis, much to his annoyance ended up paying for). We did a 12” mix with me singing with Grace, which was fantastic, but by then she was in litigation with her record company so it was shelved. Damn you, lawyers.
JOY DIVISION MEMORABILIA MISCELLANY. Wow has anyone noticed that before??? Barney and Peter??? And I wanted to call Jack Wolf! He said it would have ended like ‘A Boy called Sue’ haha. It is amazing how many things you see that are a homage to “Unknown Pleasures’.
