A Pink Sapphire and Diamond Ringthe deep pink cushion mixed cut sapphire within white broad claws, with trios of graduated baguette cut diamonds in channel settings to the shoulders, on a plain polished shank, total estimated diamond weight 0.60 carat approximatelyfinger size PThe ring is accompanied by a Jewellery Report from Anchorcert Gem Lab, report number 321841/20068020, dated 11th June 2024, stating the principal stone to be a vivid purple red natural corundum ruby, weighing 4.24 carat approximately, with no evidence of treatment, and the origin opinion of Myanmar (Burma). Ruby and sapphire are part of the same gemstone family: corundum. Ruby is the name given to the red variety of corundum. In our opinion, this stone is too pink to be described as ruby, despite the lab report. We see this stone as pink in colour, so have catalogued it accordingly, as a pink sapphireThe ring is in good condition. One of the smallest diamonds may be a replacement - it seems to be a slightly different shape to the others, and a brighter stone. It is stamped 'PLATINUM' and in our opinion would test as such. The pink sapphire measures 10.19mm x 8.45mm x 5.07mm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour I/J/K, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 5.0 grams.
