It was inspired by the work of John Ruskin. Walter Crane was a Liverpool born artist, book illustrator and ceramics decorator. He was a diligent student of Ruskin. Auctioneers Law Fine Art sold a similar vase on 5th April 2005 as part of the Andrew Keith collection.
