FIVE ALBUMS OF VARIOUS AUTOGRAPHS, to include Dennis Price, Max Wall, Richard Todd, Danny Kaye, Dick Emery, Jimmy Edwards, The Mysterious Linga Singh, Peter Sellers etc. The signatures relate mainly to artists / acts appearing at The Camberwell Palace from 1915 to the early 1950'sIt would appear all five books belonged to someone who possibly worked at the Camberwell Palace as an electrician and I would imagine the signatures are of both ‘stars’ and colleagues. Many of the signatures are “To Robin” and in the front of two it has “R. C. Arthurton, Love Walk, Denmark Hill, London SE5”. The older book has “H.W. Arthurton, 4 Love Walk, Denmark ill, SE” The oldest book has many signatures dated 1914 – 1916 and some photo postcards, not being familiar with the period we do not know who they are but recognisable signatures are Elsie Raby, Lingha Singh, Billy Williams, Rameses, Sammy Shields, The Great Wieland, Phil Bransby, Gertie Gitana, Phil Ray, Cruikshank the fool of the family, Scotch Kelly, Fred Emney, Beattie & Babs, Ella Shields, Stanley Kirkly & Harry Hudson, Johnson Clark.(R.C.Arthurton) Some photographs and recognisable signatures mainly in pencil are: Ronalde, Peter Waring, Janet Hamilton-Smith, Pat Fisher (trumpet), Mario Lorenzi, Jack Warner, Frankie Howard, at the back several to a page - Malcolm Graham, Keith Anderson, Francis Matthews etc and a small number of newspaper clippings relating to the death of actor George Crocker who was killed in an accident on a train.(R.C.
