Gross total weight of 9ct gold: 17.84 grams; 14ct: 4.53 grams.

A 1940s Diamond, emerald and ruby floral spray brooch. Set with two emeralds en cabochon, seven mixed cut rubies and 40 eight cut diamonds In unmarked yellow metal, testing as 18ct, with a white metal pin and trombone clasp testing as 10ct gold. Length approximately 5.5cm. Gross weight approximately 14.27 grams. Condition report: in overall good condition with all stones and settings secure, clasp in secure condition.
Lot 225
A group of small ruby and corundum "trapiche" stones, approximate total weight just over 6.5 carats. Trapiches are stones which form with radiating stars of inclusions between growth sectors - the name being drawn from the Spanish word for a type of sugar cane farm mill wheel which the stones are said to resemble. To include seven trapiche stones of unpolished form, one marked for "Burma". Together with a variety of specimens of ruby and corundum rough to include barrell shaped examples, a hexagonal parti-colour example marked "Tanzania", examples in matrix, including one marked for Ural, Russia and other examples. A suite of ruby and diamond set jewellery Comprising an "18c" stamped ruby and diamond bracelet, approximate length 18.5cm, testing as 18ct gold; an "18k" stamped ruby and diamond dress ring, size N 1/2, also testing as 18ct gold; a ruby pendant, stamped "18c", testing as 18ct gold; plus a pair of circular ruby and diamond ear studs with butterfly backs, unmarked but testing as 18ct gold. The pendant is suspended from a 9ct gold trace chain. Gross approximate weight of 18ct: 19.54 grams; 9ct: 3.12 grams. Condition report: All stones and settings are secure, as are all clasps. No apparent significant damage or signs of repair.

Set with six round mixed cut sapphires, each approximately 3mm diameter; four rubies, two en cabochon, 1mm approximately, and two round mixed cuts, each 3.5mm; 26 primarily rose cut diamonds (one replacement round old cut); plus four graduated split pearls. Approximate width 3.8cm, length 2.8cm. Gross weight approximately 11.39 grams. Condition report: All stones are securely set and in good condition (please note replacement diamond as above); Brooch features a c clasp and is attached by a removeable screw to the verso of the piece. Clasp and security chain in good condition.
