A ruby and diamond three stone ring, the oval mixed-cut ruby claw set between two brilliant-cut diamonds, stamped ‘18ct’, total diamond weight approximately 0.50 carat, ring size M. £600-£800 --- Accompanied by purchase receipt from Eastern Jewellers, of Abu Dhabi, dated 25th October 2008, for ‘One loose natural ruby (1.19ct, Burmies [sic])’.
An early 20th century ruby and diamond cluster ring, the oval-cut ruby within a surround of old brilliant-cut diamonds, to a fine reeded hoop, mounted in platinum and gold, total diamond weight approximately 0.75 carat, ring size K. £700-£900 --- According to a verbal report from GCS, the ruby is of Thai origin with no indications of heating. A gold novelty brooch, by Hans Georg Mautner, 1968, designed as a stylised 18ct gold reindeer with textured body, polished antlers and legs, the eye set with a ruby cabochon, maker’s mark ‘HGM’, London hallmark, length 49mm. £260-£360 --- Hans Georg Mautner Hans Georg Mautner (1901-circa 1972) was born in Weigelsdorft, Austria, and did an apprenticeship in Prague in 1919, then started work in 1921 for wholesale silversmiths and jewellers Berthold Muller at Hanau. He went on to establish a workshop and retail shop in Vienna in 1925, exhibiting regularly at the Künstlerhaus in Vienna. In 1933 he won a silver medal at the Triennale de Milano and a gold medal at the Paris Exhibition in 1937. According to his biography which accompanied the catalogue for the 1961 International Exhibition of Modern Jewellery 1890-1961, he came to work in London in 1938 where he had a workshop in Hatton Garden. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Mautner produced jewels for S. J. Rood in Burlington Arcade and Boucheron in Old Bond Street, both in London. He also made jewellery for the Crown Jeweller Garrard & Co. Ltd from 1952, the year in which they merged with The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd, and moved premises to 112 Regent Street, London. Mautner worked with both 9 and 18ct gold, and used semi-precious stones. He produced ‘wacky animal brooches in whimsical poses, often using rubies or emeralds as eyes’ , (Wingfield) - these brooches often being small in size. An Edwardian 15ct. gold hear-shaped pendant locket set small ruby & rose diamonds, Birmingham hallmarks for 18901 (3.6 gm gross); a yellow metal circular pendant set small ruby & rose diamonds; a Victorian agate heart-shaped locket with white metal mounts; a 9ct. gold St. Christopher pendant; a pair of 9ct. ear-studs (combined weight of 9ct. = 3.8 gm); & a pair of yellow metal hoop earrings marked “585” (2.8 gm).

A gold ring composed of a slender round-section hoop and oval bezel set with a facetted ruby. 0.42 grams, 22.64 mm overall, 19.27 mm internal diameter (approximate size British S, USA 9, Europe 20, Japan 19) (7/8 in.). Found on the Thames foreshore, London, UK. Acquired on the UK antiques market between 1974-1985. Albert Ward collection, Essex, UK. Displayed in the Museum of London circa 1984 as they stated it was an unusual 15th century ring for that period having a facetted stone. It was launched on the market in 2000 as Montblanc's second major line, with the aim of constituting a complete range.The Bohéme is a pen with a highly original design which, in its origins, added some specific mechanical details such as the retractable nib and the tilting barrel, as well as some luxurious aesthetic features such as the inclusion of a precious stone in the clip.Fountain pen created by the German manufacturer Montblanc around 2005.This is the Bohéme model made of black precious resin with gold-plated details and a short, wide clip adorned with a green gemstone setting.The pen, with a retractable two-colour nib with a thick point and flowing 18-karat gold finish, is cartridge-operated and has an original side-hinged charging method at the end of the barrel.
