Some slight age wear, otherwise VG Quick-witted and fast-talking Trinder was one of Britain's most popular stand up comedians from the 1930s - 1960s and during World War II his shows brought welcome relief during the dark days of War. Trinder also appeared in films and on television, in 1955 becoming the first compere for the new programme Sunday Night at the London Palladium. The comedian was a lifelong fan and devoted supporter of Fulham Football Club and served as Chairman of the club in the 1960's. He was awarded the CBE in 1975. The album serves as a reminder of the great affection and respect Trinder afforded from his colleagues and admirers.
